Nyheten Norgips Standard Eco är ett resultat av en vidareutveckling av hur gipsskivor produceras idag. Med den här skivan bidrar Norgips till att konstruera bättre och mer hållbara byggen samt uppnå ett lägre samlat CO₂ avtryck.

– Genom produktion med 100% förnybar energi reduceras CO₂ utsläppen med 68% på Norgips Standard Eco, jämfört med vår vanliga Norgips Standard. Detta dokumenteras noga i vår EPD. Att vi kan dokumentera produktens miljöpåverkan är viktig då kraven på miljöcertifiering av byggprojekt bara ökar, berättar Mikael Blomgren, Marketing Manager i Norgips.

Produktion av Norgips Standard ECO med 100% förnybar energi
I produktionen torkas gipsskivorna i ugnar som värms upp med gas. Blomgren berättar att Norgips Standard Eco produceras med 100% förnybar LBG (Liquified Bio Gas). Gipsen som Norgips använder är en återvunnen produkt, så kallad industrigips. Utöver det används 20% lokal återvunnen gips från byggavfall i skivan. Kartongen i gipsskivan är även den 100% återvunnen. För att ytterligare reducera CO₂ avtrycket är skivorna från Norgips producerade med ström från förnybara ursprungscertifierade källor.

– Biogasen kommer från fiskindustri och jordbruksavfall. Istället för att avfallet ruttnar och gas släpps ut i atmosfären så fångas den upp och kan användas. På så sätt får vi en CO₂ reducerad skiva, helt producerad med förnybar energi.

Norgips Standard Eco har samma tekniska egenskaper och används på samma sätt som vår vanliga Norgips Standard – både när det gäller brand, ljud och stabilitet, avslutar Mikael Blomgren.

EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) är kortfattat tredjepartsverificerat dokument med transparent och jämförbar information om produktens miljöpåverkan genom hela livscykeln.
